1. Interview Mr. L.V.D the senior with more than eight year of experience. He works in credit risk management department one year ago. Now he quitted his job in BIDV and switch to work in Vietcombank Bac Lieu Branch

Time: 10h30 am, 23thSeptember 2015.

Place: phone call interview

Interviewer: Hello Mr. D, My name is Vi. At present, I am performing the MBA thesis at ISB Institute of University of Economy. Today I do this interview with the purpose to collect information for my essay with topic “COPING WITH STRESS IN THE CARD DEPARTMENT IN BIDV BAC LIEU BRANCH”. May I ask you some question about the reason you quit the job in BIDV Bac Lieu branch?

Interviewer: Can you provide me some information about current job?

Mr. D: I work in BIDV Bac Lieu more than eight years. I also have Master of Business Administration. In BIDV, I’m a staffs in Management and support credit department. When I switch to work in VCB Bac Lieu, I become the manager of business credit department.

Interviewer: Can you tell me why you switch to work in other bank?

Mr. D: I felt unhappy. I think that I could not continue working there for long time in future. In fact, I could not receive kindly support from the direct manager as well as

other member in my team. Therefore, I’m always in being separated emotion and could not be attached to the enterprise. I decided to leave this job and switch to work for BIDV’s rival – VCB Bac Lieu Branch

Interviewer: Do you feel stress when you work in BIDV Bac Lieu?

Mr. D: Yes. I feel stress more than now. I’m stress because I work overload every day. I always feel unhappy. The manager and the bank policy do not give me any promotion or bonus.

Interviewer: According to you, what is the reason lead to stress in employee?

Mr. D: I think is work overload and overtime. I work long hours and have a heavy workload or too much responsibility. I do not have time for my family. Addition, the change of manager leads to change some policy and I feel bad about them, new manager unclear expectations of your work. Especially they not supportive me, not clear about your ability lead to have wrong decision when they change employees between departments.

Interviewer: Hello Mr. T, My name is Vi. Mr. T: Yes. It’s been a pleasure meeting you!

Interviewer: Can you provide me some information about current job?

Mr. T: In BIDV, I have more than twenty year of experience and I’m a manager of business credit department about five years. So that I must spend a lot of time for work and customer. I was switch to work for VCB and become the vice director. In BIDV, I do not have any promotion, increase salary or bonus.

Interviewer: Can you tell me why you switch to work in other bank?

Mr. T: In BIDV I must do very hard. Because I’m a leader of customer department so that I must spend a lot of time for work and customer. I do not have time for children and family. However, I do not have any promotion. I switched to work for VCB Bac Lieu Branch with director position with higher promotion, salary and bonus. Moreover, I do not receive pressure from the director.

Moreover, staffschanges every three or six months between departments. My staffs have the role conflict and role ambiguity. This may be the reason are the common causes of inefficiency at the workplace. They do not have time to improve knowledge.

This hard for me to help them have good performance!

Interviewer: According to you, what is the reason lead to stress in employee?

Mr. T: I think is work overload and overtime. There are some staffs’

responsibilities for card operation but there is a lot of work for them. Staffs must do overtime 2 or 3 hours every day. The staffs have the role conflict and role ambiguity. The change of manager leads to change some policy and I feel bad about them, new manager unclear expectations of your work. Especially they not support me, not clear about your ability. They have wrong decision when they change employees between departments.

Interviewer: Can you provide me some information about current job?

Ms. N: There years ago, I was a teller to be responsible for card and ATM. After six month I was change to work in Management and support credit department. One year ago I was change to the card department again. After that three month BIDV change me to Management and support credit department again. I always feel exhausted and some time have bad attitude. After change department, I forget almost all knowledge about that. So that I’m not clear about my situation in the card department or Management and support credit department. One month ago, I decide to switch to work for VCB because I hope that VCB will not change me between departments like BIDV.

Interviewer: Can you tell me why you switch to work in other bank?

Ms. N: I hope that VCB will not change me between departments like BIDV. And I think in VCB I will have a higher promotion and salary. Every day, I must deal with a lot of document from other departments. I must do over time with over load work. The bank does not pay more salary for me. Therefore, I decide to leave this job and switch to work for BIDV’s rival – VCB Bac Lieu Branch.

Interviewer: Do you feel stress when you work in BIDV Bac Lieu?

Ms. N: Yes. I feel stress more than now. I’m stress because I work overload everyday among I’m not clear about my work. My role almost conflict and ambiguity. I always feel unhappy and do not have to relax.
