(1)OUTERSPACE LANGUAGE SCHOOL Name: Đô Văn Kiêt Class: 5836 MY FATHER A father is the most precious gift of God to us and a person that everyone in the world should love I also have a great father He’s a good person I have ever seen in my life I’m going to tell you more about my father in other that you can know why I admire him Throughout my life, my father has been caring, understanding but strict in his guidelines First, he is caring He always takes good care of my family He always tries to cheer me up whenever I’m sad At meals, he usually insists me to eat healthy stuff such as fruits and vegetables that are rich in vitamins and minerals Although I don’t like to eat vegetables, I sometimes eat them to please my father I know that he just wants the best things to me At the weekends, my father usually takes my family go to eat outside or sometimes takes us to the trip that makes us feel happy and brings us closer together Second, he’s very understanding He always reads newspaper every morning to know what happened He likes to read business books because he’s a businessman When I talk to my father, he dazzles me with his knowledge, he shows me a lot of knowledge I didn’t know He also helps me in my studies Third, He’s quite strict But in my opinion, a father needs to be strict to teach children well Strictness doesn’t mean that my father will hit me if I something wrong or he doesn’t allow me to anything When I was child, several times I didn’t obey my parents, my father is maybe angry but he didn’t hit me as others He taught me to differentiate between right and wrong, so now I hardly anything wrong When I was in high school, I wasn’t allowed to go out after 9pm if it wasn’t really necessary I’ve thought that was horrible But I was wrong, he has done correctly My father can earn a lot of money because he’s a director of the company of seafood The company was set up by my father and his brothers 20 years ago, so he has been working there for 20 years He goes to work every day and he works around the clock whenever he has a project He’s very good at using human resources, he can divides the work into manageable activities, and selects his staffs to accomplish the tasks that need to be done effectively He receives the calls from the partners from time to (2) time although he is not at work He goes on business by car once a month I know that he works to earn money but he seem loves his job, it becomes inevitable to his life After dinner, he had worked until 11pm before he went to sleep Although he spend a lot of times for work but he also knows how to manage time between work and family correctly He knew money isn't everything but everything needs money So he said that he had to work hard to earn much money for my family As a matter of fact, he did, my father built a big house for my family after many years worked hard I’m so proud of him My father is not only a respected father but also a loved husband My parents have been married for 35 years and I have never seen my father has hurt my mother Although he’s very busy at work, he never forget celebrating special days such as wedding anniversary, birthday, International Women's day, Vietnamese Women's day, etc If my father is in outside and he know that he is going to late coming home, he’ll call my mother and let her know Have you ever heard your father apologizes to your mother? May be it is so rare that we just have seen on television because many Vietnamese men are paternalistic My father can apologize to my mother whenever he makes her sad, I think it is not difficult and it’s necessary to keep a good relationship My father treats my mother as if they were still single I mean that he doesn’t change his characteristic worse, he’s still romantic a little bit He sometimes surprises her with a gift even not special day I think almost all women love a husband like that, so I’ll try to become a good husband like him in the future Last year, I had to take the university entrance examinations after I had graduated from the high school It’s the very important examinations in Vietnamese student 12 years of education would have been useless if I had failed this examination My parents provided me with anything I needed to study well that why I hadn’t to fail the examination, I couldn’t make them disappointed I had studied at high pressure for month because I wanted to study in a famous university I also hesitated to choose a university I would study because I had heard some confused information from my friends about choosing a suitable university I didn’t tell how I felt difficult to my parents for some reasons But one day, when I was studying at 11pm, he came to me and talked to me as two real men He seemed to know what I was thinking He told me that my life, my future had depended on my decision and no one could have done that for me His advices made me feel confident When the examinations were just around the corner, I had been studying very hard by the time I did the tests Thanks to my father, I had a correct decision and now I have been studying in University of Economics for year (3) In my opinion, I’m very lucky because I have a good father He can everything for me under one condition, I must obey him That is not a problem because children ought to obey their parents When I was a child, I used to talk with my father, joked with him He made me smile and happy Now I don’t talk with him frequently because maybe I’m adult and I am not living with him I’m living in Ho Chi Minh city and I come back my hometown about twice a year because of busy studying Now I’m quite miss him, I could talk with him by cellphone but I would rather talk with him directly So, I will visit him this next week for sure I’m still alive and become good person thanks to him, he’s a good father What if my father had been not good, he had been drunk and hadn’t taken good care of my family Maybe I would have begun my life as my father, I would have become social burden So, my father is really my guiding light That’s something about my father whom I love very much I have a clear understanding that there are no perfect people in the Earth; However, my father is perfect for me I appreciate everything he does for my development (4) (5)
