Recommendations for further research

Một phần của tài liệu Extensive reading patterns and attitude of EFL adult learners in australia international english center a thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of maste (Trang 79 - 115)

To the researcher’s best knowledge, this paper is one of very few primarily qualitative studies investigate the ER patterns and attitude of EFL adult learners’ in the Vietnamese high education context by using reading diary, attitude post- questionnaire and in- depth interview. The results have some recommendations for further research as suggested below.

First, the study was conducted only in an single English center in Vietnam. It was not convincible enough to conclude about the effects of extensive reading and the findings couldn’t be generalized to all students in Vietnam. Thus, it is suggested that other researches with broader scale should be done in order to strengthen validity of the study.

Second, a pilot study should be conducted prior to the main study long enough to justify the method, activities, the instruments and the others. This could ensure the feasibility of the main study.

Finally, the subjects of the study were all Vietnamese university students who share the same language background and level of education. If a relevant research is conducted on other language and educational backgrounds the results and may be differ.
