• Still is sometimes used with a negative present, but is more

common with other present tenses

Just + the present perfect simple shows an action is recent It often goes with only.

Ex :

A: Is Gary here?

B: You’ve just missed him He’s just walked out of the door.

A: Sorry, I’m late

B: Don’t worry I’ve only just got here. 

● Already

Already + the present perfect shows something happened before, often sooner than

expected It's usually in positive sentences.

Ex: I've already spoken to my boss and he's fine with the price

I can't believe you've already finished those biscuits.

● Yet

Yet + the present perfect in a negative sentence shows something hasn't happened, but we expect it to happen We also use it in questions.

Ex: He's not got up yet Shall I wake him?

Have you seen the latest Almodóvar film yet? You'll love it.

 

● Still

Still shows an action or situation continues unchanged

Ex: I'm afraid there's still no answer He must still be in his meeting.

He's 45, but he still lives with his parents.
