UNIT 4: ANIMALS - LESSON 2: PHONICS LETTER Ss, SEA,SUN- Period 25

I OBJECTIVES

-1 Knowleage By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to:

-Listen, recognize and make the /s/ sound.Write and make proper sounds of the letter S

- Listen, recognize and produce the /r/ sound and two words sea, sun.

- Listen and sing the song “This is the sea” to practise using sound /s/, words sea, sun

- Listen and identiffy the /s/ sounds by clap

2 Skills: Develop listening, speaking and reading skills

3.Attitude/Quality Show love for the sound, letters and words that they are using by

using appropriate gestures and intonation when listening, saying and performing them

4 Forming competence: Form and develop the following competences:

- Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork)

- Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves)

- Language usage to talk about frequency

A: Warm up (8ms)

Sing the song “What’s that?” (3ms)

- Have students sing the song and do the actions

- T comments and then introduces the new lesson

B: Newlesson (25ms)

1 Presentation Part E- Listen and repeat Trace (10ms) (CD1 - Track 60)

- Introduce letter Ss and its sound

- Play audio Have students listen and repeat

- Demonstrate tracing the letters with your finger

- Have students trace the letters with their fingers

- Have Ss work in pairs, one traces the word and one guesses

- Have some students demonstrate the activity in front of the class

2.Practice Part F- Listen and repeat Write (5ms) (CD1 - track 61)

- Have students look at the pictures

- Demonstrate the activity

- Play audio Have students point to the letter as they hear it

- Play audio again Have students listen and repeat

- Have students trace and write the letters

- Have some students demonstrate the activity in front of the class

I OBJECTIVES

By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to:

1.Knowlege.- Review talking about the shaps and animals (setting, participant, topics)

- Use words, phrases and sentences “circles, triangles, birds, snakes/ How many….are

there? – Tewlve circles” to talk about the numbers of objects

- Conduct a dialogue about the numbers of objects

2 Skill Develop listening, speaking and reading skills

3.Attitude/Quality Show love for the things they have by using appropriate gestures and

intonation when asking and answering about the shapes of objects

4 Forming competence: Form and develop the following competences:

- Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork)

A: Warm up (5ms)

Sing “How many triangles are there?” song (3ms)

* Option : “Musical chairs” game (2ms)

- Have students sit on their seats

- Play music and ask them to move around

- Take away two chairs and suddenly stop music Have students sit on any chairs The two students who have no chairs to sit on will make questions and answers

E.g Student A: How many triangles are there?

 Student B: Eleven triangles

 Student A: How many pencils are there?

 Student B: Thirteen pencils

- Swap roles and continue

- T comments and introduces the content of the new lesson

- Have students look at the pictures and call out the objects they can see

- Play audio and demonstrate the activity using the example
